A great way to unwind, connect with nature, and get your endorphins flowing is to walk in one of our many great national parks. Now we have more time and restrictions are easing, it is the perfect opportunity to put your shoes on, get outside, and breathe in that fresh air.
Whether it’s a short walk with a stroller or a longer hike through the mountains, there are many walks all over the Sunshine Coast to suit your adventure.
It is important to remember your limits and stay safe while you walk, being realistic about your physical condition, knowledge, experience and skills. It’s also important you know which essential items to carry with you, and care for the parks you visit. These walks range from Grade 1 to Grade 5 – 1 being a short distance walk that requires no walking experience and easy terrain, and 5 being experienced walkers, longer distance and rough terrain.
The many beautiful National Parks close on the Sunshine Coast are:
- Buderim Forest Park and Falls
- Currumundi Lake
- Emu Mountain
- Kondalilla
- Maroochy Wetlands Sanctuary
- Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve
- Noosa National Parks Noosa Hill
- Noosa National Parks Palmwoods
- Noosa National Parks Tanglewoods
You can visit the Sunshine Coast Council’s Adventure Sunshine Coast website to checkout all the walking tracks on offer, and how to best prepare for your trip!
