The end of the year is near and, for some, graduating high school and heading into the big world of working can be daunting – especially if you feel like you aren’t quite ready, you’re not sure which career to pursue, or you’re not even sure where to begin looking for a job.
Luckily for the youth of the Sunshine Coast, our team has extensive knowledge in School Leaver Employment Supports (SLES), which is about giving Year 12 students the skills and confidence to help them move from school to employment.
Working with a dedicated SLES provider will help you to 1. find a job you are good at where you can learn new things, 2. make friends, and 3. earn your own money.
Through SLES you can develop your capability in areas such as:
- Travel training
- Money handling
- Work experience in open employment
Time management - Taking instructions
As a SLES provider, we offer a great range of services and supports, which are available to you if you decide to work with us a SLES provider.
When it comes to matching you with open employment or work experience that suits you personally, we search for opportunities once we understand your strengths and needs. This is to give you the best possible chance in securing the right employment or work experience and helps to set you up to put your best foot forward from the get-go.
Our supports are predominately one-on-one, and we are extremely happy to have you come along and meet the people who will be working with you.
SLES will help you build on your skills, your confidence, and help you achieve your employment aspirations. If this sounds like something would like to take advantage of, please reach out to us on 07 5453 7887 or email hello@thecommunitycollectiveqld.com.au
